NSW Health Care
Interpreter Service: The First Forty Years

This publication is a celebratory look at the service's first forty years of service.

The NSWHCIS began as an informal service catering to the needs of a growing multicultural Australia. In 1977 it was established as an organisation that pioneered language interpretation in the health sector. Health care interpretation is often a thankless job that requires sensitivity and tenacity. It is a largely invisible service and this publication aims to highlight the service's first forty years of achievement. The publication was launched at the celebration of the service's 40th Anniversary in November 2017.
